PrEP: HIV Preventive Treatment
Pre-exposure prophylaxis against HIV
PrEP is a chemical (antiretroviral) pre-exposure prophylaxis against HIV, meaning it prevents HIV infection in case of exposure when taken correctly.

Who is PrEP for?
PrEP is intended for people who are not HIV-positive but are at risk of contracting it. It should not be confused with post-exposure treatment (PEP) or treatment for people living with HIV (PLHIV).
Mandatory medical supervision
PrEP must be prescribed and monitored by a doctor.
PrEP should be used in addition to condoms, as it only prevents HIV.
Dosage options
PrEP can be taken in two ways: continuously or on-demand. It is therefore important to consult a doctor to determine the type of intake suitable for each person.
